e-HEALTHCARE WORLD AWARDS
PLYMOUTH, MA- KidsMeds, Inc. (http://www.kidsmeds.org), was named as the "Best Site for Kids" at the eHeathcareWorld Awards held November 4th in New York City. The eHealthcareWorld Awards, sponsored by Modern Healthcare magazine, honored top websites in thirty categories at an awards dinner. In each category, the top three finalists were named and received either a bronze, silver or gold distinction. KidsMeds took home the gold award.
Each year, eHealthcareWorld recognizes excellence in Internet communications for the healthcare industry. This year's ceremony, attended by hundreds of healthcare and Internet industry executives, took place at the New York City Hilton Hotel and Towers in Manhattan.
Websites were judged by a panel of forty-six industry leaders and evaluated on their objectives, content, style, interface, and how they provided a breakthrough impact on healthcare communication. For a website to be acknowledged in the 'Best Site for Kids' category, a website had to be designed to share health and medical information and advice with children and/or their parents or to introduce them to the worlds of science, medicine and healthcare. The KidsMeds website provides pediatric drug information to parents and caregivers.
Sharing honors in the "Best Site for Kids" category and taking home the Silver and Bronze awards respectively, were the Nemours Foundation's KidsHealth website (http://www.kidshealth.org) and the Baptist Memorial Healthcare children's website (http://www.pdparrot.org).
